What is Newton’s Cradle, How Does It Work?

In”Newton’s cradle ” the balls move in a single line. When you lift the first ball, you give it energy, and when the ball goes towards the other ball, that energy turns into kinetic energy and speed. When the first ball hits the second ball, its momentum switches to the second; then it reaches up to the third, fourth and last ball. After the Momentum passes to the last ball and the ball gets up in the air, the same momentum transfer starts again, this time from the end to the beginning. Because steel balls are elastic (throw one on the ground and be surprised to see how high it goes), there is very little energy loss in momentum transfer, and these tides continue for quite some time.
