The European Space Agency’s Gaia spacecraft’s more sensitive calculation of the change in interstellar distances revealed that the universe is expanding faster than predicted.
The discovery came about thanks to Gaia, who has been in space for 6 years, constantly taking images of 1.3 billion stars and comparing changes.
According to studies so far, the universe was expanding at a speed of 67 kilometers per megaparsec. According to a new study based on Gaia’s measurements, this speed was calculated at 73.2 kilometers. The margin of error in the study was also announced as 1.8%.
